Cairo Design Week returns for fourth edition in November

  • Reflects city’s ‘creative energy,’ says founder Hisham Mahdy
  • Program of exhibitions, talks, workshops and pop-up events

DUBAI: Cairo Design Week will return for its fourth edition from Nov. 19 to 28, following the success of its 2025 event, the organizers announced recently.

The annual event will bring together designers, brands, creative institutions, cultural organizations and design enthusiasts from Egypt, the Middle East and North Africa region, and beyond.

Since its launch, Cairo Design Week has positioned itself as a platform for creative exchange, highlighting Egypt’s growing sector.

The 2026 edition will take place across three districts in the capital — Zamalek, Downtown Cairo and Heliopolis. Each area will host a program of exhibitions, installations, talks, workshops, pop-up events, brand activations and cultural initiatives.

Organizers said the upcoming edition will expand opportunities for international participation and cross-disciplinary collaboration. Plans include additional public installations and citywide activations designed to engage residents and visitors throughout the event.

Over the course of 10 days, activities will be staged across heritage landmarks, public spaces, streets and creative venues throughout Cairo. The program is expected to feature large-scale installations, curated exhibitions, interactive design trails and industry-led discussions examining the role of design in urban development, community building and everyday life.

The event comes as Cairo continues to gain recognition for its design scene, supported by the city’s architectural heritage, growing creative community and increasing international visibility.

Cairo Design Week founder Hisham Mahdy said the event has evolved significantly since its launch. “Cairo Design Week reflects the creative energy of Cairo itself,” he said in a statement.

“What began as a platform to showcase Egyptian design has evolved into a meeting point for regional and international creatives, institutions, and brands.

“In 2026, we look forward to creating even more opportunities for collaboration, dialogue, and discovery while continuing to celebrate the incredible talent shaping our industry.”
