ISLAMABAD: Pakistan and Oman both agreed to strengthen defence and strategic ties on Friday, as Pakistan’s Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (JCSC) General Nadeem Raza met senior Omani military officials during his visit to the Gulf country.
During his visit, General Nadeem Raza called on Deputy Prime Minister for Defence Affairs Sayyid Shihab Bin Tariq Bin Taimour Al Said and Minister of the Royal Office General Sultan Bin Mohammed Al Namani, said the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the Pakistan Army’s media wing.
The Pakistan general also held meetings with Chief of Staff Sultan's Armed Forces Vice Admiral Abdullah Bin Khamis Al Raisi, Commander of Royal Navy of Oman Rear Admiral Saif Bin Nasser Bin Mohsin Al Rahbi and Commander of Royal Air Force of Oman Air Vice Marshal Khamis Hammad Al Ghafri.
“The dignitaries discussed upon measures to enhance the level and scope of military engagements between both countries and reaffirmed to continue to forge deeper strategic ties,” ISPR said.
The chairman JCSC said Pakistan and Oman were promoting peace and stability in the region, adding that the two countries are also engaged in widening and deepening bilateral defence ties.
The Omani military leadership appreciated Pakistan’s role in the capacity building of the Omani armed forces.
