Saudi and Iranian foreign ministers discuss progress in US-Iran talks

RIYADH: The Saudi and Iranian foreign ministers discussed on Wednesday the latest developments in negotiations between Iran and the United States.

During the phone call, Prince Faisal bin Farhan and Abbas Araghchi talked about and the progress made in implementing the agreement signed last week to end the conflict, Saudi Press Agency reported.

The two ministers also discussed the latest regional developments and the importance of pushing for “dialogue and diplomatic solutions that achieve the common interest of all countries and peoples of the region.”

Saudi Arabia has welcomed the agreement reached between the US and Iran to end fighting and reopen the Strait of Hormuz.

The two ides have since entered further negotiations with the aim of reaching a permanent agreement within a 60 day period.
