Arab League chief condemns attacks targeting Gulf states

  • Ahmed Aboul Gheit warned they pose a threat to regional security and violate international law

DUBAI: League of Arab States Secretary-General Ahmed Aboul Gheit condemned attacks targeting Kuwait, the United Arab Emirates and the territorial waters of Qatar, warning they posed a threat to regional security and violate international law.
In a statement published Sunday on X, Aboul Gheit also expressed the Arab League’s solidarity with Bahrain after authorities announced the arrest of individuals linked to foreign entities accused of attempting to undermine the kingdom’s security and stability.
Aboul Gheit warned that continued escalation could derail mediation and diplomatic efforts aimed at resolving crises peacefully and reiterated the Arab League’s support for measures taken by Gulf states to protect their sovereignty and security.
