Dirab Golf & Country Club hires American golf professional

RIYADH: Dirab Golf & Country Club has hired a golf professional to help members improve their game at all skill levels.
Aamir Chaudhry, an American citizen of Pakistani origin, is a licensed USGTF (United States Golf Teachers Federation) golf instructor and brings with him a wealth of experience in his new job at Dirab.
Barely two months at the club Chaudhry has quickly adjusted.
“It’s wonderful. I love it. All in the team at Dirab are nice,” Chaudhry said.
The 41-year-old Chaudhry, a well credentialed golf coach, is the go-to guy for players with swing issues to fix.
Chaudhry has started giving lessons to members and, having come in during the low season, he expects the number of clients to go up once the new season starts around September.
“I enjoy my work with my clients. They like my coaching style. So far, it’s wonderful…going good,” said Chaudhry.
The veteran PGA pro has practically traveled the world plying his trade — from Asia, Europe, the US and the Middle East — after working his way up from his humble beginnings in Pakistan where he learned the sport of golf from club professionals at the grassroots level in 1988.
Before moving to Riyadh in 2016 was in Washington DC, teaching golf at an academy, Everybody Golf School.
In 2011 in Algiers, Algeria, Chaudhry worked with the Algerian Golf Federation, which has assigned him roles from coaching the national team and the club pros to teaching all aspects of golf to the international community and Algerian nationals. He designed and advised the construction of the first driving range in Algeria.
Prior to Algeria Chaudhry has had stints in Germany, Hong Kong, Spain, France and, well, Syria, where he worked at Cham Golf Course in Damascus in 2004.
A member of International PGA and Pakistan PGA, Chaudhry was a fully certified USGTF Level III since 2003. He was awarded third place in the playing ability test.
