More than 250,000 students to participate in World Rose and Aromatic Plants Forum

RIYADH: The General Directorate of Education in Taif is preparing for the World Rose and Aromatic Plants Forum in 2026, which will begin on Sunday, March 29, and will continue for two weeks.

The directorate will present a calendar of interactive events and programs with the participation of more than 250,000 students, Saudi Press Agency reported.

It explained that this participation comes within the framework of strengthening students’ connections to their cultural and historical identity and consolidating the status of Taif roses as one of the most prominent heritage, tourism, and recreational components of the area.

The events will include organizing a rose parade with the participation of a number of students, illuminating the facades of schools and educational buildings, in addition to allocating an information booth for the directorate throughout the forum, and the participation of volunteer and scouting groups in the organization and coordination.

The Director General of Education in Taif Dr. Saeed Al-Ghamdi confirmed that the directorate’s participation aims to develop students’ artistic and cultural appreciation, strengthen their connection to local heritage, and cultivate their national pride through interaction with events that highlight Taif’s identity and rich history.

This is the second edition as the inaugural Rose and Aromatic Plants Forum was held last year in April, aiming to promote the city’s floral heritage and support national efforts to grow the aromatic plant sector.
