Kat Von D’s makeup is finally arriving to Saudi Arabia and will be stocked exclusively at Sephora. An evocative and authentic makeup brand, Kat Von D celebrates self-expression.
Arab News had an exclusive chat with the famous Kat Von D about her passion for makeup, her brand and future plans.

1. What is your philosophy on makeup?
I think the most attractive attribute anyone can have is confidence — so regardless of if you wear makeup or not, it’s important to love yourself first.

2. Tell us about the process of creating a new collection.
It all depends really. Some formulations alone can take so much time to get just right, and other times the process is much easier. For me, once I have an idea in my mind, and I take pencil to paper, it isn’t long before we start seeing prototypes. But at the end of the day it all depends on what the product is.
Being creatively involved in the entire process is quite time consuming for me though. I think a lot of celebrities are okay with slapping their name on a product and not being involved at all— but personally, I’ve never felt comfortable with that approach.

3. What inspires you when working on a new collection?
Inspiration is all around you, and I would feel like a fool if I didn’t pay attention. I am constantly inspired by music, Mother Nature, my cats, friends and lovers and so on.
4. You have worked with many celebrities and makeup gurus. Who do you wish to work with and why?
I tend to be a lone wolf for the most part and feel happy working alone.

5. Almost all of your makeup line is a best seller at Sephora worldwide and it is soon coming to Saudi Arabia. What are your favorite products from your line?
I’m obsessed with my Tattoo Liner. I call it the “dummy-proof” liner. It’s perfect for beginners to advanced, and the formula is amazing!

6. What is in your makeup bag?
So much red lipstick!

7. Name the one thing you cannot leave the house without applying.
Deodorant

8. What do you know now that you wish you knew when you started your makeup line?
I’m happy with the chain of events that have taken place thus far. My creative team is like family to me, so at this point I wouldn’t change anything!

9. What are you working on right now?
So much that I could write a book about it! But feel free to visit katvondbeauty.com for all the new upcoming goodness!

Her holiday sets include the brand’s skin perfume collection, and a travel-size duo featuring Salted Muse and Nightcap.

Nightcap, launched in August, is reportedly a homage to Hadid’s favorite horse from her childhood. The fragrance has been characterized as warm and spicy, with notes of ginger, cardamom and vanilla.

Salted Muse features top notes of sea salt, pink pepper and carbon dioxide extract, followed by heart notes of olive tree accord, fig and lavender. Its base notes include cedarwood, sandalwood and amber.

Bella’s sister, Gigi Hadid, also released a winter collection for her clothing brand Guest in Residence, featuring sweaters, beanies, scarves and socks in seasonal colors.

Meanwhile, Hammam, a Dutch Moroccan Egyptian model, appeared in red as part of a festive campaign for Estee Lauder, a label she has worked with on multiple occasions.

The model shared images from the campaign on Instagram, showing her posing in a red gown alongside Karlie Kloss and Paulina Porizkova, set against oversized holiday decorations and baubles.

She spoke about the appointment in a recent interview with Estee Lauder: “This is the most amazing opportunity to represent and empower girls around the world.

“As a Moroccan-Egyptian woman, I am incredibly honored to take on this role with such a long-standing brand that promotes diversity and women’s empowerment in the beauty space.”

Shaik, an Australia-born model of Saudi, Pakistani and Lithuanian descent, also shared festive content with her followers. In one Instagram post captioned “Holiday party season,” she wears a sparkly maroon halter-neck dress with a plunging neckline.
