Hamza Ali Muhammad told Arab News that he had approached the NSHR in Makkah to intervene, alleging he had invented a medicine for the treatment of a number of diseases, including rheumatism, cardiac diseases, sciatica, ulcers and colon conditions but the ministry refused to register his invention or give a patent for it.
Muhammad said he presented his invention to the ministry, had tested it at King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Center as well as at the toxicology center in Makkah.
“I have also registered my invention at King Abdul Aziz City for Science and Technology as a new invented product but regretfully it did not receive any appreciation from the Health Ministry, which declined to register it,” he said.
Muhammad said his medicine was an ointment he has made by mixing oil with various herbs. “It took me two years to make this invention. The ointment should be sprayed on the affected area once a day for three days,” he said.
Muhammad said when the ministry did not answer him, he wrote to the Department of Health Affairs in Makkah.
“The former director of the department conveyed my letter to the director of medical licenses and pharmaceutical affairs at the ministry and told them that the invention was submitted to the toxicology center, which said the medicine was effective in curing a number of diseases,” he explained.
