Subaru Impreza
Along with the redesigned Impreza WRX, Subaru is also launching redesigned versions of the regular Impreza hatchback and sedan for the 2008 model year. Like the new Tribeca, the Impreza gets more conservative styling upfront and a refreshed look at the rear. The new Impreza, which was launched by Alyemni Motors Co. at the Jeddah Raceway on Sunday, has a longer wheelbase, creating more interior space. Subaru used new materials and styling to improve the look and feel of the interior, too. The 2.5-liter Boxer engine has been modified to improve emissions and fuel efficiency. It also has improved mid- to low-end torque. The 2.5-liter SOHC normally aspirated engine adopts a new intake port and other design changes that improve low-end torque and fuel efficiency. Incorporating a newly designed intake manifold, intercooler and turbocharger, the 2.5-liter DOHC turbocharged also delivers improved torque and fuel economy. Transmissions, both manual and automatic, have been modified for faster, more responsive shifting, a senior management executive of Alymeni Motors Co. said.

Starbucks
Starbucks, which has several outlets across Jeddah and elsewhere in the Kingdom, has offered complimentary used coffee grounds year-round for gardens and compost bins as its contribution toward protecting the environment. “Coffee grounds can be a valuable source of nutrition for the garden,” said Antoun Abou Jaoude, marketing manager for Starbucks-Middle East. “At Starbucks, we strive to find innovative and creative ways to positively contribute to a healthier environment. Reusing coffee grounds in the garden is a great way to nourish your plants and recycle this rich resource from Starbucks stores,” he added. “Customers who enjoy the Starbucks Experience can now take it home for their plants to enjoy with our ‘Flowers Love Coffee .... too’ program,” Abou Jaoude added. In 1997, the grounds for your garden initiative began at a grass roots level by Starbucks partners in North America. The partners saw a need in their communities and identified an innovative solution that leverages Starbucks core business, which is coffee. This program involves packaging coffee grounds — brewed beans in reused whole bean coffee bags — and sealing them with a Starbucks coffee grounds sticker, and distributing them to customers and communities for use in gardens and compost piles.
