RIYADH: A humanitarian aid convoy from Saudi aid agency KSrelief has arrived in the Gaza Strip carrying food baskets as part of a campaign to support the Palestinian people.
The Saudi Center for Culture and Heritage, KSrelief’s partner in Gaza, immediately began distributing the aid to thousands of families.
KSrelief’s central kitchen also distributed 25,000 hot meals to vulnerable families in central and southern Gaza as part of Saudi Arabia’s ongoing humanitarian efforts to support those affected by the current crisis in the area.
Meanwhile, KSrelief also distributed 135 food baskets to vulnerable families in Seiyun district, Wadi Hadramout, Yemen, benefiting 945 people, the Saudi Press Agency reported.
The agency also provided emergency aid, including tents, shelter kits and food baskets to families affected by a fire that destroyed 14 tents in displacement camps in Yemen's Marib governorate.
KSrelief also delivered more than 100,000 free medical services through its Specialized Hospital for Ophthalmology in Marib. In one year, the hospital examined 42,167 patients, conducted 14,633 lab tests, diagnosed 8,491 cases, performed 5,322 eye surgeries and distributed 32,012 prescription glasses.
