RIYADH: Saudi mobile telecom operator Zain KSA has announced the commercial launch of Advanced 5th Generation technology for individual customers, becoming the first company in the Kingdom to offer this service.
This comes as an extension of its leadership in developing digital infrastructure, following its earlier success in launching the 5G Standalone network in Saudi Arabia.
Advanced 5G enhances consumer connectivity
Advanced 5G will give customers a more advanced connectivity experience combining higher speeds, faster response times, and greater reliability, benefits that will be reflected across everyday uses such as ultra-high-definition content streaming, cloud gaming, video calls, and AI-based applications.
It will also bring more stable performance in high-density locations, improved indoor coverage, and greater battery efficiency for devices that support the technology.
The service will initially launch in Riyadh and Jeddah as part of Zain KSA's ongoing efforts to expand its network and strengthen connectivity. The rollout uses the 600 MHz spectrum band alongside other frequencies to improve coverage, particularly indoors and in areas where wider signal reach is needed.
Network upgrades support future telecom services
Advanced 5G also contributes to elevating overall network performance by improving response times, enhancing the user experience while on the move, and increasing upload speed efficiency, alongside boosting network reliability, paving the way for the next generation of telecom services such as Voice over New Radio and RedCap technologies, among other innovations that will form the foundation for future digital services.
