DAMASCUS: Syrian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Asaad Hassan Al-Shaibani on Saturday described Syria‘s ties with Qatar as a model of partnership based on trust and mutual respect.
Following a meeting with Dr. Mohammed bin Abdulaziz Al-Khulaifi, Qatar’s Minister of State at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in Damascus, Al-Shaibani said the partnership would promote regional development and stability.
“I was pleased to welcome His Excellency Dr. Mohammed bin Abdulaziz Al-Khulaifi, Qatar’s Minister of State at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, to Damascus,” Al-Shaibani said in a post on X.
“We view the relationship between the Syrian Arab Republic and the state of Qatar as a model of partnership built on trust and mutual respect. This relationship will help expand opportunities for development and stability across our region and fulfill the aspirations of our two brotherly peoples.”
Earlier on Saturday, Al-Shaibani and Al-Khulaifi signed a memorandum of understanding on cooperation in diplomatic studies and training.
This followed a meeting at Tishreen Palace in Damascus, where the two officials discussed ways to enhance cooperation across various sectors and strengthen bilateral relations between the two countries.
