DAMMAM: Saudi Reef Academy is expanding efforts to promote sustainable rural development through a specialized initiative that equips beekeepers with modern skills and supports high-quality local honey production.
The initiative is being implemented in cooperation with the Eastern Province branch of the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture and the National Center for Vegetation Cover Development and Combating Desertification, in partnership with beekeeper associations in the region and Baha.
It aims to empower beekeepers, develop human capabilities, and maximize the use of local resources.
The initiative supports sustainable local economic development by enabling beekeepers to adopt best practices in mangrove honey production and strengthen the commercial identity of local products.
It also expands extension and practical training programs while developing value chains for high-quality products.
The initiative reflects the academy’s commitment to sustainable rural development through capacity building and the creation of opportunities that improve quality of life.
It also supports the goals of Saudi Vision 2030 and promotes the efficient use of the comparative advantages of rural areas across the Kingdom.
