DUBAI: Saudi Arabia on Wednesday condemned Iranian attacks targeting Jordan, Bahrain and Kuwait, describing them as a dangerous escalation and a violation of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the three countries.
Kuwait, Bahrain and Jordan reported drone interceptions, air raid sirens and missile shootdowns amid Iranian attacks on US-linked targets in the region.
In a statement, the Saudi Foreign Ministry said the kingdom strongly condemns and denounces the brutal Iranian aggressions and blatant violations of the sovereignty of each of the sisterly states.
The ministry said it considers the attacks “a threat to the security and safety of the territories of the sisterly states and their airspaces.”
Qatar, the UAE and Egypt have also voiced their condemnations.
Qatar, through its foreign ministry, described the attacks as “a flagrant violation of the sovereignty of these states and a blatant breach of the rules of international law.”
"The Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasizes the necessity of sparing the region the consequences of these unjustified attacks, and working to de-escalate to restore security and stability regionally and internationally,” the Qatari foreign ministry said.
Meanwhile, Kuwait’s foreign ministry said the latest attacks represented a continued aggressive approach by Iran that sought to undermine Kuwait’s sovereignty and regional de-escalation efforts.
The UAE also issued a strongly worded statement through its foreign ministry.
In a statement, Egypt’s foreign ministry expressed Cairo’s “full solidarity” with the three Gulf states and affirmed its support for measures aimed at protecting their security, stability and national assets.
The ministry said the attacks threatened the security and stability of the wider region, stressing that the security of Arab states is an “integral part” of Egyptian and Arab national security.
Egypt also reiterated its rejection of any actions that undermine state sovereignty or threaten territorial integrity, while calling for de-escalation and respect for international law to preserve regional stability.
