AL-MAHRAH, Yemen: A kidney dialysis center in Yemen’s remote Al-Mahrah governorate supported by the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center, Saudi Arabia’s primary humanitarian agency, treated 135 patients in March.
The center, located in Al-Ghaydah District, carried out 390 scheduled dialysis sessions and nine emergency procedures for 56 patients, while a further 79 received consultations and examinations at its nephrology clinic.
Male patients accounted for 65 percent of beneficiaries and female patients for 35 percent. Internally displaced persons made up 11 percent of those served, residents 87 percent, and refugees 2 percent.
The center is part of KSrelief’s broader effort to rehabilitate and sustain Yemen’s health sector amid a prolonged humanitarian crisis that has left millions without access to basic medical care.
