Amazon launches ‘Saudi Made’ store to support local businesses

Amazon Saudi Arabia has launched a “Saudi Made” storefront on Amazon.sa, featuring thousands of local products certified by the “Made in Saudi” program. Aligning with the Kingdom’s Vision 2030, the dedicated storefront promotes locally manufactured products to millions of Amazon customers, accelerating the development of small and medium-sized businesses and entrepreneurship in Saudi Arabia.

The launch was announced following the signing of a cooperation agreement between Abdulrahman Althukair, CEO of Saudi Exports Development Authority, and Abdo Chlala, country manager, Amazon Saudi Arabia, in the presence of Bandar bin Ibrahim Alkhorayef, Saudi minister of industry and mineral resources. The signing ceremony was held at the “Made in Saudi” Exhibition 2023, an annual event that aims to bring Saudi products closer to consumers and businesses.

Amazon’s new “Saudi Made” store is a curation of thousands of locally manufactured products across a range of categories including health and personal care, grocery, home care, baby care, and beauty, offering a wide selection to customers. The store encourages shoppers to support local businesses and makes it easier for customers to find, explore, and purchase local products from across the Kingdom.

Althukair said: “Our ‘Made in Saudi’ program is much more than a certification; it places local businesses at the heart of a collaborative community. The program plays a key role in promoting Saudi products under one unified, trusted brand, while helping them expand their reach and increase their competitiveness on the global stage. Our partnership with Amazon bolsters our commitment to enabling more brands to expand their local manufacturing, while positioning Saudi products and services as the preferred choice for domestic and international consumers.”

Thousands of local businesses have been endorsed by the MIS program’s logo and certification, representing quality and authenticity. These businesses now have the opportunity to reach Amazon customers around the world through the recently launched Global Registration Program on Amazon.sa. The program makes it easier and more seamless than ever for local businesses to sell on Amazon stores globally.

“Today, we are very proud to be launching our dedicated Saudi Made store on Amazon.sa in partnership with the Made in Saudi program, supporting sellers of all sizes, including SMBs, within the Kingdom and further contributing to the country’s path toward a thriving digital economy,” said Chlala.

“The store supports these local sellers as they expand their operations online, while endorsing thousands of local products and showcasing some of the nation’s most interesting and unique items for customers to discover. Launching the Saudi Made store is the first step toward a long-term partnership with Saudi Exports that reiterates our commitment to investing in local businesses and SMBs, providing them with the tools and services they need to succeed.”

Amazon has been coordinating with Monsha’at, Saudi Arabia’s General Authority for Small and Medium Enterprises, to empower local businesses, with an aim to host 40,000 Saudi sellers by 2025 on Amazon.sa.

The multi-city activation is designed to engage guests through Toyota’s SUV lineup in fun and exciting ways, offering a hands-on opportunity to experience vehicle performance, control, and versatility. The lineup features a wide range of Toyota SUV models, including the Land Cruiser HEV Max, a hybrid vehicle built for performance. Beyond the off-road drives, the activation offers a welcoming weekend setting with supporting activities suitable for families and younger guests, creating a well-rounded experience for visitors of all ages.
Building on the success of its inaugural edition, which welcomed more than 4,500 participants and attracted over 10,000 attendees, the second edition continues to focus on meaningful guest engagement through interactive and experiential driving activities while emphasizing safety, trust, and enjoyment. Through this approach, ALJ Motors champions Toyota’s off-road legacy while creating an experience that further connects guests with Toyota’s renowned SUV lineup.
Shahad Nassier, managing director of marketing communications at ALJ Motors, said: “Following the strong response to the inaugural season, the return of this off-road experience allows us to continue engaging our guests in an authentic and exciting way. In this second edition, we have further refined the driving routes and elevated the overall experience to better serve our guests and their families. By bringing Toyota’s SUV lineup into real desert environments, we provide an opportunity for guests to experience vehicle performance firsthand, while reinforcing the values of reliability and capability that have long defined Toyota’s presence in the Kingdom.”
The experiential initiative deepens guest relationships, supports informed vehicle choice, and reflects ALJ Motors’ ongoing role in delivering reliable and diversified mobility solutions across the Kingdom, in line with Saudi Vision 2030.
Guests interested in participating in the off-road experience can register for the upcoming activations in Jeddah on Jan. 9-10, followed by Dammam on Jan. 16-17 and 23-24, through ALJ Motors’ official social channels.
