JEDDAH, 19 June — It’s a place that screams enthusiasm! It’s full of fun. You may very well recognize that from its catchy name. The very first Fuddruckers opened in Texas in 1980. Now there’s a whole chain of them.
After all, it is one of the greatest burger joints on the planet. Its hamburgers are said to be, “The world’s greatest hamburgers.”
Why shouldn’t they be? They’re juicy, lean and incredibly mouthwatering to say the least. They use grade A meat and buttered buns that are freshly made every day. Even the meat is cooked right in front of you. You even get to choose it from the butcher’s.
Naturally it’s not a glamorous joint; it may not have a posh bone in its entire restaurant body. That may in fact be the beauty of Fuddruckers. It’s a self-service place where you feel as if you’re preparing your own meal. That’s one way of guaranteeing satisfaction. Can you picture garnishing your own perfect hot dog? Try to visualize carrying your plate around, putting as much ketchup or mayonnaise, placing your fresh slices of tomatoes and onions, and bringing your forks and knives — if you need them at all that is. You may enjoy eating the old fashioned way with your own two hands. Oh and let’s not forget the unlimited “free” drink refills you can enjoy.
Fuddruckers has an exceptionally large menu. It’s not like the average fast food place.
They have value meals like the cheeseburger, veggie burger, and surprise hot dog. They also have deluxe sandwich meals, which include an amazing lemon pepper Cajun chicken sandwich that I personally think, is fantastic. There’s also, a steak sandwich, classic club, Swiss beef strip chicken and surprise chili cheese hot dog. I love it that the portions are so filling. You’ll leave feeling full I’m sure.
Even if you choose to eat just one of their delicious salads. They have, Greek salad, beef or chicken taco salad, chicken fajita salad, southwest Tex-Mex salad and chicken or peppersteak Caesar salad. Most people like the chicken taco or the chicken Caesar.
Fudruckers has a very tasty vegetarian pizza. It’s light with a very distinctive flavor to it. It also has wonderful appetizers — fried cheese sticks, onion rings, chicken wings, chicken fingers, popcorn chicken, lemon pepper shrimp and my two favorites, chicken quesadillas and chili cheese fries. I don’t think the popcorn chicken is a good idea by the way. ***It tastes like just the skin was dipped in oil.
They also have a kid’s menu that’s supposed to be really good. Of course the World’s Greatest Hamburger platters are the absolute best. They’ve got double classic works, the Mediterranean, triple cheeseburger and cheese and bacon. They all come with Fudd fries and grilled corn. By the way Fudd fries are so yummy because they come with the potato skins on them.
Fuddruckers even serves breakfast and brunch. As for dessert, it’s spectacular! Both the brownie blast and the sweet dreams sundae are to die for. Everything else is great but those two are special. The brownie comes warm with hot fudge over a scoop of vanilla ice cream. I think sharing in this situation would be a crime. But you can share the tiramisu, apple pie or cheesecake if you must.
As for drinks, in addition to Pepsi, they have 7-Up and Mirinda, some Snapple fruit juices, beer, ice tea, orange juice, some tea and coffee.
In conclusion, I say visit a Fuddruckers near you. It’s a place for casual dinning and loads of fun.
