Saudi chief of staff opens new military attache HQ in Pakistan

  • Gen. Al-Ruwaili also met with Pakistani military officials during his visit to Islamabad

RIYDH: Saudi Arabia’s chief of staff Gen. Fayyad bin Hamed Al-Ruwaili has inaugurated the Kingdom’s new military attache headquarters in the Pakistani capital, Islamabad.
He said the opening of the building reflects the Saudi leadership’s support of common interests and the levels that cooperation between the two countries have reached in all fields, especially in defense and military, “which are a bridge of communication and fruitful cooperation between the Saudi and Pakistani armed forces.”
The opening was attended by the Kingdom’s ambassador to Pakistan, Nawaf Al-Malki, and the military attache at the embassy, Maj. Gen. Awad Al-Zahrani.
Gen. Al-Ruwaili then met separately with Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee Gen. Nadeem Raza, and Chief of the Air Staff Marshal Zaheer Ahmad Babar, where they discussed a number of issues of common interest and ways of strengthening and developing military and strategic cooperation and relations between the two countries.
During his visit, Gen. Al-Ruwaili also met with Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan and Pakistani military chiefs.
