Road map for 7th Riyadh Economic Forum set

The board of governors of the Riyadh Economic Forum, which enjoys international attention because of its high-level of participation and discussion on important research papers on the growing economy of the Kingdom, set a road map for its seventh session to be held in December 2015.
In a significant lead up to the 7th Riyadh Economic Forum, the board of governors held a workshop recently to determine the issues to be discussed during the next session of the forum, said an official of the Information and Resources Development Center here on Thursday.
According to him, economic experts and researchers, businessmen, government officials, ordinary members of the public as well as the media will participate in the forum’s workshop setting the road map for the strategic growth of the national economy.
The participants in the workshop included businessmen, academics and government officials looking into the different national priorities affecting the private sector, its development, growth and contributions to the national economy.
The key forum will primarily focus on five broad categories, including legislation and regulation, human and natural resources, and infrastructure, the official added.
Earlier, Saad Almijil, head of the board of trustees for the forum thanked Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah for his patronage to the forum since its inception.
He added that the workshop discussed strategic commercial issues to be included at the upcoming forum, which will be held in December 2015.
The upcoming forum will also study the international economic situation.
Aimed at achieving economic goals as well as discussing obstacles and challenges encountered by the Kingdom, it is expected that the forum would play a major role in further strengthening the Kingdom’s rapidly growing economy.
Furthermore, the participation of local companies would be helpful to achieve the objectives of the forum and draw its future strategy, realizing the interests of the national economy and companies.
The forum will also study the international economic situation to benefit from similar world experiences and will suggest practical solutions that facilitate economic decision-making, the official stated.
A top official of the forum recently observed that the upcoming forum will be a follow-up on its previous meetings to diagnose the issues and obstacles faced by the national economy and identify its challenges to further strengthen the national economy.
Organized by Riyadh Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI) under the patronage of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah, who chairs the Supreme Economic Council, the forum is attended by a large number of key economists and decision-makers to discuss ways and means to bolster the economy of the Kingdom by coming up with solutions for economic issues in order to achieve the desired growth.
