DAMMAM: Prince Saud bin Abdullah Thunayyan, president of the Royal Commission for Jubail and Yanbu, will open the 12th Horticulture Exhibition at Al-Nakheel Beach in Jubail today.

More than 53 government departments and other establishments will participate in the 10-day show themed “Industry Meets Beauty in My City.”

The exhibition aims to promote a sense of aesthetics among the city’s population to make them more responsible in protecting the city’s public parks and greeneries. The event also aims to familiarize people with the latest techniques in horticulture, irrigation and agricultural pest control.

A number of establishments specializing in these areas have been invited to participate in the event. Farmers and nurseries will offer their products at discounted rates at the expo. A number of contests for young people with innovative ideas have also been planned.

In addition to displaying flowers and plants, the exhibition will showcase the latest advancements in the area of landscaping, tree planting, preservation of the environment and public areas, and saving water and electricity.
