RIYADH, 22 August 2005 — Saudi Basic Industries Corp. (SABIC) and a subsidiary, Scientific Design, have been awarded a contract to build a new petrochemical plant in the industrial city of Jubail, a SABIC spokesman said yesterday. Project Management and Development Company awarded the contract to construct the plant, which will produce 900,000 tons of oxide ethylene and glycol ethylene a year.
