RIYADH: Saudi Arabia intercepted and destroyed a number of drones on Tuesday evening that attempted to target petroleum facilities in the Eastern Province, the defense ministry said.
The official spokesman for the ministry Maj. Gen. Turki Al-Malki said the “terrorist” attacks originated once again from Iraqi territory and were carried out by Iran-backed terrorist militias.
He affirmed the Kingdom’s inherent right to defend itself and its assets, as well as its right to respond at the appropriate time and place.
Drones launched from Iraq that attempted to target oil facilities in the Kingdom’s Eastern Province and Riyadh were intercepted on Monday.
