RIYADH: Saudi Defense Minister Prince Khalid bin Salman on Saturday discussed strengthening military cooperation and efforts to address regional challenges with his Turkish and South African counterparts, the Saudi Press Agency reported.
In separate phone calls with Turkish National Defense Minister Yasar Guler and South African Minister of Defence and Military Veterans Angelina Motshekga, Prince Khalid reviewed ways to strengthen defense ties and discussed joint efforts to promote peace and stability amid ongoing developments in the Middle East, according to SPA.
His discussions also covered regional and international issues.
The calls come as Saudi Arabia continues intensive diplomatic engagement with regional and international partners following months of heightened tensions in the Middle East, including efforts to safeguard maritime security and de-escalate regional conflicts.
