KSrelief provides 24,500 meals to Palestinians in Gaza

RIYADH: Saudi aid agency the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center distributed 24,500 hot meals to Palestinian families in the central and southern Gaza Strip on Sunday as part of the Kingdom’s humanitarian efforts.

KSrelief established a central kitchen in late February in central Gaza and has since provided hundreds of thousands of meals for Palestinians living under harsh conditions after more than two years of Israeli war in the territory.

The initiative was part of the Saudi Popular Campaign for the Relief of the Palestinian People in the Gaza Strip, in cooperation with the Saudi Center for Culture and Heritage. The project also enabled the employment of 40 local workers, according to the Saudi Press Agency.

Almost 90 percent of Gaza’s population is living below the poverty line, lacking access to food, water, medicine, and necessities for children and infants.

After October 2023, Saudi Arabia was among the first countries to launch air, sea and land relief convoys to Gaza, sending aid via more than 80 planes and dozens of vessels through Jordanian and Egyptian crossings.
