RIYADH: The Islamic Military Counter-Terrorism Coalition, in cooperation with the United Nations Counter-Terrorism Center, on Monday launched a legal training program on counter-terrorism as part of the strategic guide initiative to combat terror financing.
The program is being held in Moroni, capital of the Union of the Comoros, through April 17, as part of efforts to strengthen the legal and institutional capacities of IMCTC member states to counter terrorism and terror financing, the Saudi Press Agency reported.
It aims to help specialists in law enforcement agencies, financial intelligence units, and relevant authorities to strengthen legal frameworks and enhance their ability to detect, investigate, and disrupt terror financing in line with international standards and best practices.

It also helps to strengthen mechanisms for information-sharing in this critical field.
About 30 trainees are taking part in the five-day program run by a group of international experts through specialized training sessions aimed at strengthening participants’ applied skills and improving coordination among relevant authorities.
The program, a series of IMCTC initiatives in countering terror financing, brings together investigators, public prosecutors, and financial sector regulators, besides national stakeholders.
