RIYADH: The King Abdulaziz and His Companions Foundation for Giftedness and Creativity, or Mawhilba, is focusing on boosting students’ maths skills.

In partnership with the Saudi Ministry of Education, Mawhiba has opened registration for the Kangaroo Mawhiba Math Competition through April 7 via its official website and app, with the main event scheduled for April 17 and 18.

The initiative aims to enhance problem-solving skills and demonstrate the practical applications of mathematical concepts in a competitive and enjoyable learning environment.

Open to students from the third grade of elementary school through the third grade of high school, the annual event uses a multiple-choice format tailored to specific grade levels to challenge and inspire young mathematicians.

Originally founded in Australia in 1980, the Kangaroo competition is now one of the world’s largest scientific contests, involving around 6 million students across 70 countries.
