RIYADH: King Salman on Friday issued a royal decree promoting and appointing 218 judges across various levels of Saudi Arabia’s judiciary, the Ministry of Justice announced.
The move is part of ongoing efforts to strengthen the Kingdom’s judicial system and enhance the efficiency and quality of its rulings, the Saudi Press Agency reported.
Walid bin Mohammed Al-Samaani, minister of justice and acting president of the Supreme Judicial Council, said the decree reflected the leadership’s continued support for the judiciary, including that of Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.
Al-Samaani said the appointments would contribute to improving judicial performance, raising the quality of judgments, and enhancing services provided to court users.
He added that the step would help accelerate litigation processes and improve the overall experience for beneficiaries, ultimately increasing public satisfaction and reinforcing the delivery of swift justice.
The minister expressed his appreciation to the Kingdom’s leadership for its continued backing of judicial reforms and wished the newly appointed judges success in carrying out their duties in a way that upholds justice.
