LONDON: The president of the UAE, Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al-Nahyan, reviewed the latest regional developments with his Russian counterpart, Vladimir Putin, on Tuesday.

They discussed the ongoing military escalation in the Middle East and the serious implications for regional and international peace and security, the Emirates News Agency reported.

They underscored in particular the negative effects the US-Israeli conflict with Iran, which began on Feb. 28, is having on maritime navigation and the wider global economy.
