LONDON: A 31-year-old Palestinian was shot and killed by Israeli forces at the Anab military checkpoint east of Tulkarm, the Ministry of Health said on Monday.
Abdel Rahman Abu Al-Rub was from Jalbun, a town in the Jenin governorate located in the northern part of the occupied West Bank.
Another person was injured at the scene when Israeli forces opened fire on a vehicle passing through the Anab checkpoint.
Israeli forces prevented Palestinian Red Crescent paramedics from reaching the wounded after gunfire was reported near the checkpoint, which was closed, forcing vehicles to turn back in both directions, according to the Wafa news agency.
Abu Al-Rub’s death raises the number of Palestinians killed in Jenin Governorate to 64 since the start of 2025.
