Saudi Arabia condemns attacks on residences of Iraqi Kurdish officials

RIYADH: Saudi Arabia strongly condemned on Sunday attacks targeting the residences of leaders of autonomous Iraqi Kurdistan.

A drone attack targeted the home of the president of Iraq’s Kurdistan Region ‌Nechirvan Barzani early on Saturday and security sources said early Sunday that air defences had shot down a drone near the residence of the leader of ‌the ‌Iraqi Kurdish ‌ruling party, Masoud Barzani, in Erbil.

The Kingdom emphasized “its rejection of anything that threatens the security and stability of Iraq, and affirms its solidarity with Iraq and the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, and its support for their security and stability,” the Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
