RIYADH: Since February 28, 2026, the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) states have witnessed Iranian attacks using missiles and drones. Targeting vital infrastructure and civilian facilities, these attacks constitute a dangerous escalation that threatens regional security and stability, with the total number of launched projectiles reaching 4,391.
In contrast, the Israeli occupation state, which is directly attacking Iran, has experienced 930 missile and drone attacks, representing just 17% of the total regional attacks.
Statistical indicators show an increasing frequency of these strikes. The total number of Iranian attacks on Saudi Arabia since the beginning of this conflict has reached 723 missiles and drones. Furthermore, the United Arab Emirates has been subjected to 2,156 attacks; Bahrain to 429; Kuwait to 791; Qatar to 270 and Oman 22.
Gulf air defense systems have demonstrated exceptional efficiency and professionalism in neutralizing these threats, proving to be an impenetrable shield safeguarding the region’s security and stability.
These attacks targeting the Gulf Arab states constitute a flagrant violation of international humanitarian law and its customary rules, directly threatening the lifeblood of the global economy and international energy security.
