KSrelief provides 25,400 hot meals to Palestinian families

  • Aid agency has kitchen in Gaza to help displaced people

RIYADH: Saudi aid agency KSrelief on Monday distributed 25,400 hot meals to displaced families in Gaza.

That came after it provided 24,000 meals in a single day last week and distributed food baskets to refugees in Khan Younis. The work is part of the Kingdom’s efforts to support the Palestinian people.

KSrelief established a central kitchen in Gaza in February to provide about 24,000 meals a day. The initiative is part of the Saudi Popular Campaign for the Relief of the Palestinian People in the Gaza Strip, run in cooperation with the Saudi Center for Culture and Heritage.

At the end of the initiative period, the kitchen will have produced and distributed about 3.6 million meals to Palestinians in central Gaza and provided jobs for 40 local people, the Saudi Press Agency reported.

Saudi Arabia was one of the first countries to launch an air bridge to Gaza, as well sending more than 80 planes and dozens of vessels through the Jordanian and Egyptian crossings.
