Bella Hadid launches new scent, supports Lyme disease foundation

DUBAI: Supermodel Bella Hadid has launched the latest scent under her brand Orebella, Jasmine Blues, and announced that her cosmetics brand is partnering with an organization that supports Lyme disease sufferers.

The part-Palestinian model took to social media to celebrate, sharing photos from the launch party in Los Angeles, as well as laid-back campaign shots promoting the new scent.

The scent is described on the brand’s website as “a luminous, shimmering white floral bloom of creamy jasmine and rose petals blended with the aquatic softness of blue lotus and fresh eucalyptus.”

Orebella, which launched in 2024 with a sell-out line of clean fragrance mists, is rooted in Hadid’s love of scent layering, spirituality and beauty rituals.

She wrote on her website at the time: “For me, fragrance has always been at the center of my life — helping me feel in charge of who I am and my surroundings. From my home to nostalgic memories, to my own energy and connection with others, scent has been an outlet for me. It made me feel safe in my own world.”

The alcohol-free scents of Orebella were Hadid’s answer to traditional perfumes.

“Through my healing journey, I found that I was extremely sensitive to the alcohol in traditional perfumes — both physically and mentally — it became something that was more overwhelming than calming to me,” she added. “That is the main reason I wanted to find an alternative, so essential oils became an artistic and experimental process for me.”

Also this week, the Orebella Alchemy Foundation announced its partnership with the LymeLight Foundation, a California-based organization that supports children and young people with Lyme disease.

In 2024, Hadid revealed that a percentage of the proceeds from her fragrance brand Orebella was donated to the Orebella Alchemy Foundation, a charitable initiative aimed at creating positive change across various communities.

Hadid, 29, suffers from Lyme disease and has been open about her health on social media, where she occasionally posts updates about her treatment.

She described living with chronic pain due to Lyme disease in an interview with Vogue in May 2025.

Hadid was first diagnosed with the disease in 2012.

The supermodel told the magazine that she suffers from headaches, brain fog, light and noise sensitivity, inflammation and joint pain.

Lyme disease can also cause depression, anxiety and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, which Hadid has also reportedly suffered from. The condition is a bacterial infection that can spread to humans through infected ticks.

Hadid said she often feels down on herself “for being so sensitive,” adding: “I think nobody really understands chronic illness. It’s hard to take a shower most days, which I promise, guys, if you’re reading this, I shower every day.

“But sometimes, if I have one day off, if I can get in the shower and make myself breakfast, I see that as an accomplishment.” --
