RIYADH: Saudi Arabia secured 18 international awards at the 48th World Hospital Congress in Geneva, underscoring the Kingdom’s growing global leadership in healthcare excellence and innovation under Vision 2030.
The Kingdom’s hospitals earned 13 awards in the Hospital Development track, led by King Khaled Hospital in Al-Kharj (Riyadh First Health Cluster), which received the Gold Award of the prestigious Dr. Kwang Tae Kim Grand Prize—the highest recognition at the congress.
Other top winners included:
• Al-Kharj Maternity and Children’s Hospital (Riyadh First Health Cluster), which earned the Silver Award from the American Hospital Association for Workforce Wellness.
• King Salman Hospital in Riyadh, awarded Silver in the Mastercard Operational Excellence category.
• Jubail Health Network (Eastern Health Cluster), which received the Bronze Award for Environmental and Social Responsibility.
In the Scientific Research track, five Saudi researchers were honored across multiple disciplines, including digital health, AI, clinical models, and sustainability. Among the winners were:
• Dr. Muaddi Al-Harbi, Consultant for Scientific Research at the Deputy Minister for Healthcare Services, recognized for his work in digital health and AI.
• Dr. Hatem Abdullah and Muslim Sadran for clinical model innovations.
• Dr. Hadi Al-Sulaim for sustainability-focused research.
These achievements highlight the Kingdom’s integrated healthcare model—combining high-quality clinical care, innovation, scientific research, and sustainability—as Saudi Arabia continues to strengthen its global position as a leading healthcare system.
