Tourism minister inaugurates Rixos Murjana Resort

JEDDAH: Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Tourism Ahmed Al-Khateeb recently inaugurated the Rixos Murjana Resort at King Abdullah Economic City in Rabigh.

The project was supported by the Kingdom’s Tourism Development Fund as an investor and financier, in partnership with Emaar, the Economic City, as co-investors, and FTG Development company as the project developer.

The resort, the largest all-inclusive resort in the Kingdom, will welcome visitors from both within the Kingdom and abroad, the Saudi Press Agency reported on Monday.

The inauguration was attended by Qusai Al-Fakhri, CEO of the fund, and Rixos Hotels Chairman Fettah Tamince.

The resort offers 488 rooms and suites with sea views, 33 villas, a fitness center, a sports complex, and meeting and conference facilities.

The project is expected to create 250 jobs for Saudi nationals, the SPA stated.

Al-Khateeb said the inauguration marks a step in developing tourism destinations in the Kingdom and shows the readiness of projects to operate and receive visitors.

He added that the project reflects the fund’s role in transforming investments into destinations that improve quality of life, expand family tourism options, and support Saudi Vision 2030.

The resort also features Murjana Waterpark, the Kingdom’s first fully integrated hotel water park, with 11 water attractions.
