OSLO: The Palestinian Authority could collapse in the coming months, Norwegian Foreign Minister Espen Barth Eide said on Monday, citing a lack of funding, continuing violence and the fact that half a million Palestinians are not allowed to work in Israel.
“The Palestinian Authority, with whom we work closely, are warning us that they might be collapsing this summer,” Barth Eide said.
Norway chairs the international donor group to the Palestinians and is a backer of the PA.

DAMASCUS: Syrian authorities said Monday they have arrested two members of the Islamic State (IS) group, accusing them of being behind December’s deadly bombing of a mosque in an Alawite area of the city of Homs.
In a statement, the interior ministry announced the arrest of “Ahmed Attallah Al-Diab and Anas Al-Zarrad, who belong to the Daesh terrorist organization and are responsible for the bombing that targeted the Imam Ali Bin Abi Talib Mosque in the Wadi Al-Dahab neighborhood."
