IT Matrix, a Riyadh-based network security firm, has expanded on its Secure MailMatrix corporate e-mail firewall solution with the creation of a new feature called E-Mail Noise Trap (EN-TRAP). The EN-TRAP feature allows a 98 percent reduction in the amount of spam taken in to corporate networks fitted with the Secure MailMatrix firewall solution.

“In the past I received about 100 spam e-mail daily,” said Mirza Asrar Baig, CEO, IT Matrix (itmatrix.com). “Even using the best spam blockers and filters available on the market, I was still receiving about 20 junk e-mails daily. Now, with the implementation of EN-TRAP on our network, I receive only two or three junk e-mails at the most each day. This is a significant reduction. I believe that our proprietary technology, which we have developed locally and are marketing as EN-TRAP is better than any other anti-spam technology available today.”

Secure MailMatrix is the first secure corporate e-mail management solution developed in Saudi Arabia, by a Saudi company for the Saudi market. IT Matrix developed Secure MailMatrix (SMM) using Sun’s Java technology. SMM is not a product like spam blockers or mail filters. SMM is a total solution, in the form of an e-mail firewall protecting corporate mail servers, which for the first time allows businesses to control every aspect of the corporate mail system, proactively rather than reflexively. As for outgoing communications, similar policies are implemented and only legitimate e-mails are allowed to be routed to the Internet. Corporate mail access is controlled and system use is monitored and logged. Yearly audits by IT Matrix staff ensure that corporate mail policies are being upheld.
