A popular display of native songs and dances like the Malong-Malong, Sinkil, Pakiring and Dayangdayang delighted the audience representing various groups of the Filipino Muslim community.

The musical extravaganza was held in the the presence of Vice Consul Jose V. Jacob, acting head of post and Labor Attaché Atty. Nasser Munder of the Philippine Overseas Labor Office (POLO) and other distinguished guests.

“Kalilang” is an indigenous musical extravaganza showcasing traditional poetry, song and dances, accompanied by a resounding rendition of the “kulintang” orchestra.

Unlike the commonly known musical instruments, participants use ancient and handmade instruments called “kulintang” (cylophones), gongs and cymbals, played by performers wearing traditional colorful Muslim costumes.
