Hail’s 2nd Arabian horse championship begins Thursday

RIYADH: The second Hail Championship for Arabian Horses will get underway on Thursday.

The King Abdulaziz Center for Purebred Arabian Horses and the European Conference of Arab Horse Organizations will oversee the three-day event.

The organizing committee is inviting equestrian and beauty contest enthusiasts to attend the festival which will feature 226 participating horses.

International and local arbitration committees will ensure the competition follows purebred Arabian horse standards and prizes for the tournament include more than SR600,000 ($160,000), cars, and surprises.

The inaugural event took place in 2019 with 240 horses representing purebred Arabian horse stalls throughout the Kingdom.

Saudi crown prince joins Kuwaiti counterpart in condemning Iranian attacks on GCC states

RIYADH: Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and his Kuwait counterpart Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled Al-Sabah have condemned Iran’s attacks on the GCC countries, the Saudi Press Agency reported on Friday.

In a telephone call on Thursday, they said the attacks violate their countries’ sovereignty, security and safety, with similar repercussions for the region and world.

After the US and Israel launched an assault on Iran on Saturday, Tehran responded by attacking several countries.
