RIYADH: The Saudi Ministry of Education and the King Salman Global Academy for Arabic Language have signed a memorandum of understanding to expand cooperation in language education services, the Saudi Press Agency has reported.
The memorandum was signed by Ohoud bint Abdullah Al-Faris, general supervisor of the General Administration of E-learning and Distance Education at the Ministry of Education, and Abdullah bin Saleh Al-Washmi, acting secretary-general of the academy.
The agreement lays out a framework for launching joint programs, applications and modern means of education.
The memorandum encourages the two sides to urge international universities, schools, and educational institutions to take advantage of the King Salman Academy’s language proficiency test and grants offered by the Saudi government to international students who want to learn Arabic.
In addition, the agreement outlines developing Arabic dictionaries and school curricula, as well as organizing conferences, programs, seminars, forums and training courses to boost the skills of employees in fields related to the Arabic language.
