Saudi labor minister inaugurates opening ceremony of the Saudi Family Forum

JEDDAH: Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Labor and Social Development has inaugurated the opening ceremony of the “Saudi Family Forum 2018” organized by the Family Affairs Council in Riyadh at the Crown Plaza Hotel.
Under the theme “Family Economics,” the forum opened on Sunday with the presence of a number of royals, ministers and personalities interested in society and development, and the participation of a number of charities and social initiatives.
Minister Ahmad Al-Rajehi gave a speech at the opening ceremony, during which he welcomed the attendees and praised the Saudi government’s role, under the leadership of King Salman and Crown Prince Mohammad Bin Salman, in its efforts to support families in the Kingdom.
The minister explained that the Family Council was created to follow the Kingdom’s Vision 2030, which puts society and the family within its core themes and focuses on a number of priorities, the most important of which is raising the standard of living and improving the quality of life.

The forum will discuss a number of aspects related to managing family economics. showcasing local and international experiences that will contribute to finding practical solutions to reach an economic balance for Saudi families. 

This balance is to be built on a conscious consumption of energy and full awareness of the importance of rationalization and saving , while focusing directly on the family role in the conservation of natural resources. 

The forum will be held in partnership with a number of bodies related to comic aspects,  and will be attended by economic experts who will enrich the forum to achieve the desired goals. In addition to the establishment of four workshops aimed at all elements of the family, with activities and events that are influential to the social and development scene. 

The first session, chaired by Dr. Hala Tuwaijri, was titled "The patterns of consumption in the Saudi family," witnessed a number of specialists who discussed the reality of consumer behavior among the Saudi family, as well as solutions and alternatives to rationalize consumption in Saudi households.

Spears of Victory 2026 military exercise begins at eastern province Air Warfare Center

RIYADH: Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Defense announced the start of the “Spears of Victory 2026” military exercise at the Air Warfare Center in the Eastern Region, the Saudi Press Agency reported on Tuesday.

The exercise is being conducted with the participation of branches of the Saudi Armed Forces, including land, air, naval and air defense forces, in addition to the Ministry of the National Guard, the Presidency of State Security, the Unified Military Command of the Gulf Cooperation Council and military forces from 15 allied and partner countries.

Spears of Victory 2026, one of the largest air exercises in the region, aims to enhance military partnerships, strengthen the exchange of expertise in planning and execution, raise combat readiness and achieve advanced levels of operational coordination and integration among participating forces.

The exercise includes a series of advanced training activities, such as joint and combined tactical operations, specialized academic lectures and operational missions designed to improve the performance of aircrews, technical and support personnel.

It also evaluates modern military tactics, including electronic and cyber warfare, within a multidimensional operational environment that simulates real operational conditions.

Forces participating in the exercise include those from Bahrain, Bangladesh, France, Greece, Italy, Jordan, Malaysia, Morocco, Oman, Pakistan, Qatar, Turkiye, the UK and the US.

Spears of Victory 2026 is being conducted at the Air Warfare Center, one of the most advanced training facilities in the region, supporting the development of combat plans, the assessment of capabilities and the testing and evaluation of systems and weapons.
