August 14: Daily Times states that religious seminaries belonging to all schools of thought are all set to celebrate the 71st Independence Day of Pakistan today with zeal and fervour. Several events have been planned at madaris, including flag hoisting ceremonies and national song and speech contests among the students. During the events, ulema will pledge to work for safeguarding the ideological boundaries of the country and support the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Pakistan. Special prayers will also be held for the safety and security of the country.
