ISLAMABAD: Pakistani Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi on Saturday chaired a National Security Committee (NSC) meeting of top military and civilian personnel to discuss Indian cease-fire violations along the Line of Control and the Working Boundary, reported local media.
Chief of Army Staff Gen. Qamar Javed Bajwa, Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) Director General Naveed Mukhtar and National Security Adviser Nasser Janjua attended the meeting.
So too did representatives from the defense, interior and foreign ministries.
On Friday, Islamabad summoned the Indian high commissioner over the killing of six Pakistanis, three of them children, along the Working Boundary near the city of Sialkot. Pakistan usually summons the deputy high commissioner when there is a cease-fire violation.
Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the media arm of Pakistan’s military, said Indian forces targeted a civilian population, prompting the targeting of the Indian positions responsible.
