Pakistan summons Indian envoy over cease-fire violations

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan on Friday summoned Indian High Commissioner Ajay Bisaria over “unprovoked cease-fire violations” by Indian forces along the Line of Control (LoC) and the Working Boundary.
Islamabad also condemned the killing of four members of the same family, and the injury of 10 others, in Khanoor village along the LoC.
Bisaria was informed that the “deliberate targeting of civilian populated areas is… deplorable and contrary to human dignity, international human rights and humanitarian laws,” said Pakistan’s Foreign Ministry.
“The cease-fire violations by India are a threat to regional peace and security, and may lead to a strategic miscalculation.”
So far this year, Indian security forces have carried out more than 1,050 cease-fire violations along the LoC, resulting in the deaths of 28 civilians and the injury of 117, the ministry said.
