The Daily Mail report from Islamabad states that the CPEC long-term plan, showcased on 18 December in Islamabad, seeks to give Chinese currency Renminbi a status at par with the US dollar in Pakistan to further cement the economic bond between the all-weather strategic partners, China and Pakistan, and reduce Pakistan’s reliance on the US dollar. The long-term plan also seeks China’s investment in agricultural production.
