Saudi Prince Faisal is guest of honor at German Unity Day reception

DUBAI: Saudi Prince Faisal bin Bandar bin Abdul-Aziz joined Germans at their embassy in Riyadh to mark the Germany Unity Day and celebrated the ongoing bond between the two countries.
The event, which was hosted by Ambassador Dieter W. Haller and his wife Nissrine Zarrab-Haller, was attended by more than 800 dignitaries, businesspeople, academics, artists as well as members of the German community in the Kingdom and representatives from the host nation.
Prince Faisal had a brief private meeting with the ambassador before the pair opened Wednesday’s reception.
Ambassador Haller thanked the Saudi Prince for his “commitment to make us foreigners feel at home in Riyadh, and we do feel at home and I can assure you that Riyadh under your leadership is becoming an ever more attractive place to live.”
Referring to a recent visit to Jeddah by Chancellor Merkel in May, he said: “We have been able to add more to our bilateral relations and partnership. We have added strategic content to it and we hope that a number of new avenues for cooperation were pursued during Chancellor Merkel’s recent visit to the kingdom.”
And he invited all Saudis to visit Germany: “We have seen tens of thousands of Saudis traveling to Germany and finding out for themselves that the united Germany is a culturally diverse country.”

Saudi Arabia welcomes US decision to designate Muslim Brotherhood as global terrorist entity

  • The Saudi foreign ministry said in a statement on X the Kingdom affirms its condemnation of extremism and terrorism

DUBAI: Saudi Arabia welcomed on Wednesday a decision by the United States to designate the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt, Jordan, and Lebanon as a global terrorist organization.

The Saudi foreign ministry said in a statement on X: “The Kingdom affirms its condemnation of extremism and terrorism, and its support for all that achieves the security of Arab countries, their stability and prosperity, and the security of the region and the world.”

The US administration labeled the groups in Jordan and Egypt as “specially designated global terrorists”, and blacklisted the Lebanese organization as “foreign terrorist organization” (FTO).

The decision on Tuesday came weeks after President Donald Trump issued an executive order directing his administration to start the process of blacklisting the groups.
