At an event held with the support of Abdulaziz bin Mohieddin Khoja, minister of education and information, United Electronics Company (eXtra), Saudi Arabia’s fastest-growing consumer electronics and home appliance retailer, has been named one of the Top 100 Saudi Brands. The award was presented by Khoja at a ceremony organized by a leading Saudi publication in Riyadh.
Companies on the list were chosen following a poll, which asked Saudi consumers to name their top local brands. Covering a wide range of sectors, including retail, services and industrial, the brands’ position in the Top 100 list is a reflection of both their individual success and contribution to the national economic development. Each company will be featured in the Top 100 Saudi Brands book, which will be distributed to 100,000 people and institutions across the Kingdom.
Karim Manssour-Dahbi, CEO, United Electronics Company (eXtra), said: “The last decade has seen the emergence of a group of outstanding homegrown brands, each offering customers products and services that equal their global competitors. eXtra is deeply proud to have played an important role in this and we thank all of our customers for their unerring loyalty toward our brand. We are especially pleased to be named as one of the Top 100 Saudi Brands given that this is based on the direct feedback from consumers in the Kingdom.”
eXtra was recently named as one of The Top 200 Companies in the GCC by Forbes Middle East, and also ranked as one of the Top 5 Services Companies in the Kingdom. In both 2010 and 2011, eXtra was cited by the Saudi Arabian General Investment Authority (SAGIA) as one of the Kingdom’s fastest-growing companies. In addition, eXtra was also recently named as one of the 500 top companies in the Arab world in recognition of its exceptional growth and sustained commercial success.
