RIYADH: Education Minister Ahmed Al-Issa on Saturday honored 30 students who excelled in National Olympiad for Scientific Creativity (Ibdaa-2016) here.
In the event, which was organized by the ministry and Mawhiba, around 120 scientific projects competed, of which 60 were allocated for boys and 60 for girls. The projects were in 19 different scientific fields.
Twenty-eight special awards were given by Takaful charitable society, Bader for technology incubators, Exon Mobile, Saudi Intel company, Wadi Al-Thahran company and King Abdullah City for Atomic and Renewable Energy.
During the honoring ceremony, the minister said, “Quality education is our weapon to face the social, economic, political and cultural challenges. Humans are the main focus of development.”
The state realizes the importance of innovation and allocates funds for education, development and human resources in the annual budget, he said.
Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Naif give special importance to caring for the talented, he said.
Al-Issa said hailed the distinguished partnership between his ministry and Mawhiba to encourage talent. The success of the partnership has reflected in “Ibdaa 2016,” which is organized by the ministry and Mawhiba every year, he said.
