A 30-year-old Saudi man has been arrested in Qassim for allegedly impersonating as a cop and looting expats, said Maj. Badr Al-Saheebani, spokesman of the region’s police.
“He was involved in 31 looting cases and expats were his victims,” he added.
The man used to approach people impersonating as a Passport and security officer or a municipality or labor official. “He would ask his victims to show their resident permits and when they took out their wallets, he would snatch them and run away,” Al-Saheebani said.
He also embezzled people by offering them bogus business deals. He had amassed over SR100,000 using various tricks and his victims were from Buraidah, A-Rass, Unaizah, Bakiriya, Badaie and Basar.
