ISLAMABAD: The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) has launched an emergency nutritional support project for malnourished woman and children, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported on Friday.
The project was launched this week in partnership with the World Food Program (WFP).
“The project includes providing food packages for children suffering from malnutrition that suffice for a whole month, in addition to food packages for pregnant and lactating women, containing nutritional supplements and vitamins, delivered through health centers in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Azad Jammu and Kashmir,” SPA said.
The new project falls under the umbrella of other humanitarian projects administered by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, represented by the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center to assist needy families and achieve food security in Pakistan.
With one of the largest humanitarian aid budgets in the world, KSrelief has been working in 46 countries. Pakistan is the fifth-largest recipient of its assistance and has received more than $117.6 million in aid since 2005.
